He writes to columnist Leonard Lyons, in full: "Take care of yourself, Lenny and my very best to Sylvia. Still feel awfully bad about Mr. Benchley. It will never be the same town to me without him. The kids feel terribly too." he adds: "Tell Jimmy Cannon he is writing so damned well he must be bucking for a cerebral hemorrhage [sic]."
